Biography of Pastor Bernard Joseph

Born on the island of Dominica, West Indies, Bernard Joseph was the seventh of 16 siblings. He acquired much needed interpersonal relations and team building skills from having been part of such a large family. This was evidence throughout his high school career and all of his life. During the latter years of his secondary education, he joined a musical band in which he played the lead singer role for a number of years. Upon graduating from high school, he was employed as a teacher at the Vieille Case Primary School. Mr. Joseph was well loved and achieved a great level of success in his teaching career.

His life took a drastic turn for the better when he was converted to Christ on Friday, 27th May 1983. This remarkable event will be forever supernaturally changed the course of his life. Bernard’s conversion captured the attention of his peers, co-workers, fellow bandsmen, students as well as his family. From the onset, he developed a passion for prayer, worship and the ministry of the Word of God. It was evident to all that there was a distinctive Call of God upon his life.

Several months later he began preparation for the Pastoral Ministry. He migrated to the United States in December 1986 to attend the Christ for The Nations Institute (CFNI) in Dallas, Texas, where he served on the Student’s Council as International Students Representative and graduated in December 1988. Prior to his graduation he was ordained with Full Gospel Fellowship of Churches and Ministers International (FGFCMI) on the recommendation of Mrs. Freda Lindsay, co-founder of the school. Upon completion of his Theological studies, he returned to Dominica where, on 1st July, 1989, he got married to his best friend and sweetheart, Gloria. Together they gave birth to four lovely children – Benni (18), Garvin (14), Angel (12) and Josh (8). During his twenty plus years of Pastoral Ministry he has been used profoundly by God to touch the lives of thousands in Dominica and throughout the countries where he has ministered. For the last sixteen years, he and his wife have given pastoral leadership to the Lifeline Christian Fellowship a dynamic, Spirit-filled, cutting-edge congregation in Portsmouth, Dominica. The ministry thrives with a distinctive touch of Worship and the Word.

In addition to his former leadership roles on the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies – Dominica District and currently Vice President of Dominica Association of Evangelical Churches, Rev. Joseph has served on a number of National Boards, Forums and Consultations. Presently, he serves as advisor and ministers to the Cabinet of the Commonwealth of Dominica on a monthly basis in a formal capacity.
